New Chair, Vice-Chair and Board Member appointed to CIAC Board of Directors

At its October 20 Board of Directors meeting, the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) welcomed Tyler Edgington, President and Hydrocarbons Director, Dow Chemical Canada ULC, as its new Chair of the Board of Directors and Helder Botelho, Head of Operations Canada, Lanxess Canada as Vice-Chair.

“I would like to thank CIAC and my fellow Board members for this important nomination,” said Mr. Edgington. “I have served on CIAC’s Board as a director and Vice-Chair for several years and I look forward to leading the Board of Directors.”

CIAC also welcomed Franck Giraudeau, Business Management GM, Canada, Shell Chemicals Canada Ltd. as a new Board member.

“We are so pleased to be able to welcome our new Chair and Vice Chair. Their deep understanding of the Canadian chemistry landscape and their close ties with CIAC and our values are invaluable to guiding the association in its goals. We look forward to gaining from their valuable insights over the next year,” said Bob Masterson, President and CEO of CIAC.

Mr. Edgington follows outgoing Chair Peter Noble, Chemicals Business Manager, Imperial Oil, who will be staying on as a director.

“I would also like to thank Peter for his work and leadership over the past year. His commitment to our organization was invaluable and we are happy to continue to tap into his knowledge for years to come,” said Mr. Masterson.
