CIAC is pleased to announce that Kara Edwards, CIAC’s Director Transportation, has been appointed Chair of Minister of Transport Marc Garneau’s Transportation of Dangerous Goods General Policy Advisory Council, effective November 29. The council provides Transport Canada with advice on all matters related to the transportation of dangerous goods. Members of the council consist of a variety of industry associations including manufacturers, carriers and shippers, as well as labour unions, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and representatives from provincial and federal government departments. The council meets twice annually in Ottawa. Kara has worked collaboratively to promote the safe transportation of dangerous goods and has engaged with the council for more than seven years.
