HARPER GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES PHASE TWO OF THE CHEMICALS MANAGEMENT PLAN: CHEMISTRY INDUSTRY RESPONDS
The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada applauds the federal government’s announcement today that it will fund the second phase of the Chemicals Management Plan (CMP).
The CMP was first launched in December 2006, and was championed by a group of industry, health and environmental organizations, including the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada. The CMP uses a systematic, prioritized approach to reviewing chemicals, and its renewed funding will allow Canada to maintain its position as a world leader in assessing and regulating chemicals, providing the public with renewed confidence in its approach to chemicals management.
