The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) announces Rick Babington, President and CEO of Wentworth Technologies, as Board Chair and Emily Fattore, Vice President, Human Resources & Sustainability at ERCO Worldwide, as Vice-Chair. Both appointments were approved at the October 28, 2026 Board meeting in Ottawa.
“I am honoured to take on the role of Chair and look forward to working with my fellow Board members and the CIAC team to build on the Association’s strong foundation. Canada’s chemistry and plastics sectors play a vital role in our economy, and I welcome the opportunity to advance our shared priorities, strengthen collaboration across both sectors, and support the responsible growth and competitiveness of our industry,” said Mr. Babington.
Mr. Babington joined Wentworth Technologies in 2013 through its executive succession plan. His responsibilities grew over time as he subsequently served as President of Amhil North America, led Wentworth’s Canadian operations and oversaw operations in the United States and Poland before becoming President and CEO in November 2023.
Before joining Wentworth, Mr. Babington was Executive Director and Country Lead for a global smartphone manufacturer and held senior roles in telecommunications and management consulting.
“We are delighted to welcome Rick and Emily to their new leadership roles on the Board. Both bring valuable experience, industry knowledge and perspectives that will help guide CIAC as we continue to advance our strategic priorities and strengthen the Association’s governance,” said Greg Moffatt, President and CEO of CIAC.
“I also want to extend our sincere appreciation to Michel Brassard of National Silicates for his leadership as Chair over the past year. Michel has been a thoughtful and steady voice during an important period of transition and renewal for CIAC. His longstanding commitment to Responsible Care®, along with his leadership in strengthening our governance and advancing the Association’s strategic priorities, has made a valuable contribution to CIAC and its members. We are grateful for his dedication and pleased that we will continue to benefit from his experience and perspective as a member of our Board,” added Mr. Moffatt.
