The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC), in partnership with Montreal Economic Institute (MEI), the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC), the Canadian Fuels Association (CFA), and the Mining Association of Canada (MAC) is pleased to be organizing a virtual panel discussion on November 3, 2021 at 12pm ET called “Canada’s Natural Resources of Tomorrow.”

Panelists include Isabelle Des Chênes, Executive Vice-President at CIAC; Kate Lindsay, Senior Vice-President at FPAC; Bob Larocque, President and CEO of CFA; and Pierre Gratton, President and CEO of MAC. The panel will be moderated by the MEI.

“Each of the industries represented here today uniquely contribute to Canada’s supply chains. As we look to the future in the context of the post-COVID recovery, sustainable innovation and development in Canada, each industry on this panel has a key role to play in net-zero transformation and a circular economy,” said Isabelle Des Chênes, Executive Vice President at CIAC.

“Canada’s transportation fuels sector is investing in innovation and new technologies that will help us succeed in a low-carbon economy. This event provides each sector with an important opportunity to discuss how our industries work together and how we can contribute to future development,” said Bob Larocque, President & CEO at the Canadian Fuels Association.

“The forestry industry in Canada is committed to sustainable practices and we look forward to this timely discussion with our partners in the natural resources sector on how we can contribute to a greener economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Kate Lindsay, Senior Vice-President at FPAC.

“Some people might be inclined to think that the private sector is not doing enough to fight climate change and that more government intervention is needed. This panel will debunk that myth by showing not only how the private sector is a key partner in our fight against climate change, but how entrepreneurs are constantly innovating in terms of environmental technology,” said Miguel Ouellette, Director of Operations and economist at the Montreal Economic Institute.
