Through CIAC’s advocacy efforts, the chemicals sector has been selected to participate in a new online provincial regulatory burden reduction consultation program run by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Growth (MEDG). CIAC is co-ordinating pre-consultation engagement activities, including a survey for its Ontario members.
Ontario needs to take action to build a competitive business environment to attract its fair share of investment in the chemistry industry and to create economic growth, jobs and prosperity. Government action in the areas of: corporate taxation, the regulatory framework, the integrity of industrial lands, and industrial electricity rates are needed to improve the investment conditions.
