About CIAC

About Us

The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada is THE association for leaders in Canada’s chemistry sector; a $58 billion industry. The Association represents more than 50 members and partners across the country, the majority of the chemistry industry in Canada.

Our members transform raw materials like natural gas liquids, oil, minerals, electricity, and biomass into the building blocks needed to manufacture some 70,000 products that we depend on every day.

We provide coordination and leadership on key issues including innovation, investment, taxation, health and safety, environment, and regulatory initiatives.

50+

members & partners across the country.

We work to shape public policy which supports industry investment, jobs and the environment. We take a pragmatic and evidence-based approach to represent our members’ interests for the benefit of all Canadians. Our advocacy areas include: transportation reliability and safety, the environment, chemicals management, competitiveness, and trade.

Responsible Care®

All CIAC members follow the Responsible Care® commitment. These U.N.-recognized sustainability ethics and principles cover all aspects of our members’ business, over the entire life cycle of a product. They compel companies to innovate for the betterment of society, the environment, and the economy.
