Responsible Care® verification provides CIAC’s member- and partner-companies with an external perspective on whether they’re meeting their Responsible Care® commitments.
This Responsible Care-in-Place verification was conducted on October 4-8, 2010. The verification was based on visits to the organization’s head office in Calgary as well as facilities at Fort Assiniboine and Medicine Hat, Alberta and Fort Nelson, British Columbia.
The company has six operating facilities and its corporate office and R&D facility in Canada along with two additional sites in the United States and one in Chile. Only the six Canadian sites and the corporate office and R&D facilities are included in the CIAC Responsible Care commitment, although all sites operate under the Canadian protocol.
Ashland Canada Corporation is a member of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) and is a signatory to the CIAC Responsible Care® Ethic and Codes of Practice. As an association member company there is a requirement for a triennial verification that company management systems support the Codes and Ethic of Responsible Care®. On May 25th and 26th 2010 Ashland Canada Corp. underwent its third re-verification.
A Responsible Care re-verification for Chemtrade Logistics Income Fund (Chemtrade) w as carried out between February 8, 2010 and February 19, 2010 by a three-member Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) appointed Team, augmented by a local community representative at two of the visited sites.
